Joined the Board as an independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman Designate in February 2009. Appointed Chairman in July 2009. Sir Peter has broad business experience gained in large and complex international organisations and has held various leadership roles in the UK private and public sector. He was formerly Chairman of Premier Farnell plc; Chief Executive of the Office of Government Commerce; and Managing Director of Marconi Electronic Systems. Currently Chairman of National Grid plc, a member of the UK Defence Academy Advisory Board and a member of HM Government Efficiency Board.

Sir Peter is the Chairman of the Nominations Committee and a member of the CR and Remuneration Committees.

Javed Ahmed, Chief Executive

Joined the Board as Chief Executive in October 2009. Javed has extensive international experience from a wide variety of senior commercial and management roles. He started his career with Procter & Gamble and then spent five years with Bain & Co. before joining Benckiser (later Reckitt Benckiser plc) in 1992 where he gained significant experience of international consumer goods markets and held positions including Senior Vice President, Northern Europe; President, North America; Executive Vice President, North America, Australia and New Zealand; and Executive Vice President, Europe.

Javed is a member of the Nominations Committee.

Nick Hampton - Chief Financial Officer

Joined the Board in September 2014 as Chief Financial Officer. Nick started his career in 1989 with the management consultancy firm, Monitor, where he spent five years. In 1994, Nick joined PepsiCo where he spent a number of years in strategy and planning roles in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. After a period serving in procurement and logistics, in 2002 he was appointed Vice President, Operations for Walkers Snack Foods. In 2004, he was appointed Vice President Operations for PepsiCo UK and Ireland, and in 2005 added the role of Chief Financial Officer for the same area. In 2008, he became Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Europe, a position he held until 2013 when he was appointed PepsiCo’s President West Europe Region and Senior Vice President Commercial, Europe. Nick holds a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from St. John’s College, Oxford University.

Rowan Adams, Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs

Rowan joined Tate & Lyle in 2001. During his career with the Company he has held a number of senior roles including Group Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Affairs, Director of Corporate Communications, Head of Compensation and Benefits, and Deputy Company Secretary. Prior to joining Tate & Lyle, Rowan worked for The Royal Bank of Scotland and National Westminster Bank Plc, both as Assistant Company Secretary. His early career was spent working for Linklaters and Deloitte & Touche. A History graduate from York University, Rowan is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

Joan joined Tate & Lyle in January 2013 initially serving as Senior Vice President & General Manager, Asia Pacific. She was then appointed as President, Speciality Food Ingredients from November 2014. Prior to joining Tate & Lyle, Joan spent nearly 20 years in the specialty chemicals industry mainly with Rohm and Haas Company (part of the Dow Chemical Company since 2009). She has a diverse background with experience in engineering, manufacturing, sales management and over a decade in General Management. During her career she has worked in several locations including Singapore, China, Sweden and the USA. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University, USA and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Temple University, USA.

Jim Stutelberg, President, Bulk Ingredients

Jim joined Tate & Lyle in 2014. He joined Tate & Lyle from Michigan-based PPG Industries Inc. where he led its Automotive Coatings business. Prior to that, he spent 13 years with Dow Corning Corporation in a variety of senior marketing and sales roles, including five years working in Shanghai, China. Jim is a graduate of the University of Michigan (Economics) and has an MBA from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland.

Pierre joined Tate & Lyle in 2000. During his career with the Company he has held a number of senior roles including Senior Vice President and General Manager, Europe, Bulk Ingredients, and Vice President, Manufacturing and Director of Engineering of Tate & Lyle’s former Food & Industrial Ingredients, Europe division. Prior to joining Tate & Lyle, Pierre worked for nine years at Procter & Gamble as a Project Group Manager and Process Engineer. Pierre holds an MSc in Chemical Engineering from Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Belgium.

Gabriella joined Tate & Lyle from Johnson & Johnson as Senior Vice President, Global Marketing in 2012. Prior to Tate & Lyle, Gabriella held various senior positions in strategic marketing and general management for various international markets and brands at Johnson & Johnson including Managing Director of Johnson & Johnson Consumer Italy, and Vice President Skincare for Europe, Africa and Middle East. She holds a degree in Statistics from La Sapienza University in Rome, Italy. In 2009 she was awarded the title Cavaliere del Lavoro (Order of Merit for Labour) by the President of the Italian Republic. May 2014 she was appointed President, Innovation and Commercial Development.
